Reeves Raider Report
Good evening Raiders and Families,
We have successfully made it through the first quarter of school!  Can you believe it?  I know this is hard, but your kiddos keep showing us how resilient they are with all the curveballs 2020 continues to throw at us.  Our teachers share encouraging stories every day, and most importantly, our students keep coming to class eager to learn.  We are so proud of them and of our families!
Tomorrow we will have a handful of classes that will switch for second quarter.  Fitness classes for all grades will move to health and health will move to fitness.  Our 6th grade students will rotate elective classes as follows:
Art Maker → Peer Mentoring
Peer Mentoring → Art Maker
Music Appreciation → Building Basics
Building Basics → Music Appreciation
If your student has a change in their schedule, it will be reflected on their student schedule in Skyward and also in Schoology.  Please remember that 7th and 8th grade elective classes do not rotate until the end of the semester.  Report cards also will not be available until the end of the semester, but you can always check your student’s grade on Skyward and/or in Schoology.  If your student’s schedule has changed, and there is a problem with it, such as a duplicate or missing class, please fill out this form.
Now for the news I have been anxious to announce , please help me in welcoming Ms. Kaitlin Bishopp to Reeves as our new school counselor!  Ms. Bishopp officially started with us at the end of last week.  She will be popping into social studies classes over the next few weeks to introduce herself to the students.  If you need to reach her, you are welcome to email her at or by calling 360.596.3404.  She looks forward to working with our students and families!
Math Olympiad is coming!  This is our chance for Reeves M-athletes to take over the world.  This international math competition has local, regional and national winners.  Practices are a great way to spend time with others while playing around with mathematics.  Information sessions for students and families will be Tuesday, November 17 from 6 to 7 pm and Wednesday, November 18 from 1:45 to 2:45.  Ongoing practices and contests will be on Wednesday afternoons from 1:45 to 2:45 through March.  If you are interested in joining or want more information, fill out this form.  You can also email Coach Dean with questions
Before I close, I want to give one more thank you to all of our Veterans that we honored this past Wednesday.  I would also like to thank Mr. Grostick and Mrs. Lins for their help with our Veterans Day video and to all the wonderfully talented students that contributed!  If you didn’t get a chance to check it out yet, you can watch it here.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
