Reeves MS Welcomes Assistant Principal Christopher Gonzales
Dear Reeves Middle School staff,
We are excited to announce that Christopher Gonzales has been selected to serve as the next Assistant Principal of Reeves Middle School, pending approval by the Olympia School District Board of Directors.
Christopher brings a strong combination of school leadership, instructional experience and a deep commitment to supporting the needs of every student. He currently serves as Special Education Coordinator for the Steilacoom School District, where he oversees secondary special education programming and supports districtwide services for students and families.
Before joining Steilacoom, Christopher served for three years as an Assistant Principal at Stafford Middle School in Frisco, Texas. In that role, he supported language arts, special education, multilingual learners and Section 504 programs. He also helped lead the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), relationship-centered learning practices, school safety and emergency preparedness.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the Reeves team,” said Reeves Principal Karen Zarate. “His experience as a middle school assistant principal, special education leader, instructional coach and classroom teacher gives him a thoughtful and well-rounded perspective on supporting students, staff and families. His background in student support systems, relationship-centered practices and collaborative leadership will make him a wonderful addition to our school community.”
Christopher began his career as a special education teacher and has also served as a department chair, instructional coach, administrative intern and professional development facilitator. Throughout these roles, he has worked closely with students, families and educators to create inclusive learning environments, strengthen instructional practices and build systems that help students feel connected, supported and successful.
Please join us in welcoming Christopher to Reeves Middle School. We look forward to the care, experience and collaborative leadership he will bring to the Reeves community.
Thank you for your continued support of Reeves Middle School.
