Reeves Raider Report - November 7, 2022
Posted on 11/07/2022
Good evening Reeves Families!

This Thursday, November 10th, we will be having our Veterans Day assembly.  We would like to invite all families with veterans to attend.  The assembly will start at 2:00.  Please arrive between 1:30 and 1:45 to allow for check in time in the office and then make your way to our gym.  Here is our alternative schedule for that day.  We thank our veterans for your service and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday!

Mark your calendars for November 14th!  Our PTA will be having an ice cream fundraiser at Humble Cow Ice Cream.  Come by for a sweet treat between 6:00 and 9:00 pm, see friends, support your school and you might even be served by someone you know!  Hint: it is probably a teacher!  Humble Cow is located at 4528 Maple Lane SE, St 104, Olympia 98501.  We hope to see you there!

With the change in weather, please remind your student to bring their coat or an extra sweatshirt to school on the rainy days.  It is also a great idea for students to have an extra change of clothes left in their locker.  We do our best to find students spare clothes when they need them, but we have a very limited supply on hand.

There have been a lot of questions about lunch account balances.  In addition to normal lunch, our cafeteria has a snack cart that is available to all students.  Snacks are NOT part of the free and reduced program and will be charged to the student’s lunch account.  If a student has a negative balance, they will not be allowed to purchase snacks from the snack cart, however, we will always feed them a hot lunch and/or breakfast regardless of their account balance.

Thanks for Giving Book Drive Along with other schools in the district, Reeves is collecting gently used children's books in support of the South Sound Reading Foundation.  Between now through the end of November, students can drop off donated books for the drive to the RMS Library anytime.  As an added incentive, the school that donates the most books will receive a visit from a local author!

This is the last week to get your order in for our ASB wreath fundraiser!  If you haven’t ordered your wreath and/or kissing ball yet, you can order online by using this link or through the front office.  Live wreaths and kissing balls are hand made locally and will be ready for pick up from Reeves Middle School on Monday, November 21st.  Pickup times will be from noon to 5:00 pm.  Orders are open from now until Thursday, November 10th.  Payments can be made in our office by cash, check (made payable to RMS) or card. Sales are open to families, friends and the community!

Don’t forget there is no school on Friday!  Have a great week everyone!
